Hello. My name is Robert White. You could call me a graphic designer, and perhaps that's what you're looking for, but I believe this to be inaccurate. I do not think that your customers or clients, nor my own freelance clients were looking for a graphic designer. They were looking for excellent materials to represent themselves and their business and to communicate effectively. It doesn't matter if I use Photoshop or Illustrator. Anyone can learn these programs. But to use them effectively is another issue entirely. What matters is that I get the job done and that the client is happy with the result.

Anyone can learn to use software, and with practice, to use it well. What sets me apart? Dedication. Communication. Personability. Punctuality. You cannot teach a person to care about others. You can teach someone to pretend, and they might be convincing, but in the end, it's not the same. I care about my work. I care about what it says about me and about those I represent. I care that people walk away happy at the end of the day and want to do more business. I care that they can hand a business card to someone, and that that person will want to call them back and learn more about their services.

So, I ask this; would it be more accurate to say that you want a graphic designer or someone who cares that they do the job right?
